Activities in and around Coconut Cabana and Green Turtle Cay
Everything you need accept food is provided with this rental and that can be purchased
at any of the 3 grocery stores in New Plymouth.  Don’t forget the homemade bread,
baked daily and delivered to the stores by the local Island ladies. White, raisin or
coconut bread could be the toughest choice you will have to make in a day on this
Island paradise or which reef to explore. It's all here in The Islands of the Bahamas.

ON SITE: Beach, swimming pool, tennis courts, gift shop, convenience store, Marina with a fuel dock,
3 Restaurants and a pool side Bar called the Jolly Roger. Closest beach 150 yards, closest water 40
yards, closest fresh water pool 50 yards and closest bar 55 yards.

NEW PLYMOUTH: Historical, Cape Cod style with a population 500 in season for great people
watching, Museums, sight seeing, Historical Sculpture Garden, gift shops, restaurants and bars,
liquor store, 3 grocery stores, 2 hardware-marine stores, but NO DISCOS.  Just enjoy the beautiful
sights, colorful Island landscapes, the Ocean and the sounds of the sea.

RESTAURANTS: World class evening dining to Cheese Burgers in Paradise is available.

ENTERTAINMENT:  Many local acts and DJ's entertain regularly including the number one band in the
nation "The Gully Roosters" who call Green Turtle home. You can enjoy their Island sounds at The
Rooster's Rest near New Plymouth or The Green Turtle Club or The Bluff House Beach Hotel (50
yards from the villa).

GUIDED DIVING: World Class, contact Brendal and Mary on Green Turtle Cay at  Brendals Dive Center.

SNORKELING, SWIMMING AND DIVING EVERYWHERE: The closest reef is 50 yards from shore on the
Atlantic side of the Island. The Caribbean offers some of the best snorkeling, diving, scuba diving,
deep sea diving, skin diving, wreck diving, and coral reef diving in the world.

FISHING:  Bone fishing and Deep Sea fishing, either guided or unguided is very popular.

DESERTED ISLANDS: First and Second Islands to the North and South of GTC (see NASA photos or
visit www.marinas.com for aerial photos of GTC).

DESERTED BEACHES: There are literally unlimited isolated, remote beaches on GTC as well as
throughout the Abaco chain of Islands with beach combing on many, Sea Shelling on all, swimming,
diving and even skinny dipping or nude sunbathing are possible.

SAILING AND BOATING:  This is a boaters paradise, a perfect place for that sailing vacation with a full

todays forecast.  If the Atlantic Ocean is rough to navigate you can easily move to The Sea of Abaco
and the protection of Great Abaco the Out Islands of the Bahamas.

TRANSPORTATION ON ISLAND:  Golf carts are the preferred method of transportation for visitors.  
They allow you to slow down, enjoy the tropical scenery and get into "Island Time".  You may also
travel by bicycle, sea kayak, sail boat, speed boat, ferry and taxi.  We suggest  
Kool Kart Rentals.

GOLF:  An 18 hole golf course is about 8 miles away on Great Abaco Island at Treasure Cay. Plan on
making it a full day outing.  There are cars rentals near the ferry dock and at the Airport.  Cornish car
rentals a popular one.

SEASON:  There is not just one season in the Bahamas, but year-round fun in the sun.
